Akamas Peninsula is characterised for its ragged-looking pine-covered hills, fringed with golden-brown bays and crystalline blue waters. Mount Tripylos is the highest point found in western Cyprus. its peak towers above cedar and pine-covered forests. Once on the peak of the mountain-top visitors are amazed at the scenic vistas of the Paphos forest and Tillirian landscapes which dominate the area. It’s the perfect spot to watch the sun plummet into the horizon!
Adonis Baths is a natural landmark linked to the love-triangle story of Adonis with Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and beauty and Persephone, the Greek goddess of the underworld. According to legend, both goddesses were in love with handsome Adonis, which led to a fight. To settle matters between the two ladies, the court rules that Adonis would spend 4 months of a year with Aphrodite, 4 months with Persephone and 4 months alone. The story goes that Adonis was also in love with Aphrodite and spent the 4 months he was supposed to be alone with his love. Upon hearing about it, Persephone was filled with anger and got a wild boar to kill Adonis. When Aphrodite heard the news, she ran towards her love and bled from her feet while running. On the path which Aphrodite bled lilies blossomed.
