A touch of History – Limassol is home to two of the most marvellous and significant archaeological sites of the island. Amathous and Kourion, both built on cliff tops overlooking the glistening blue Mediterranean, welcome all visitors to take a walk through the ruins of the once thriving city and be transported to the past. Multiple findings uncovered at the ancient sites are exhibited in local museums as well as abroad. In fact, the largest stone-made vase excavated at Amathous is now part of the Louvre’s collection. A touch of Blue – Limassol’s sun-kissed coastline boasts with fabulous dark golden-brown bays and glistening blue waters ideal for a beach holiday making it a haven for all beach and sun lovers. A Touch of Culture – Get lost within Limassol’s maze-like Old City and explore each corner of this picturesque area while unravelling historic and cultural treasures. One of the most dominating structures you’ll come across is the Limassol’s Medieval Castle. The ancient fort was initially built by the Byzantines around 1000 AD. This is where Queen Berengaria of Navarre married Richard the Lionheart in 1911. Currently, the Medieval Castle is home to a fascinating Medieval Museum which exhibits interesting tombstones, coats of arms, carvings as well as pottery and other medieval artefacts.

A touch of Wine – The southern mountain slopes of Troodos Mountains offer a scenic backdrop to the bustling city. Explore the traditional villages of Limassol and find out all about the island’s wine making history. These villages are known as the Krassochoria (Wine Villages), where most wineries have maintained the wine-producing traditions till this day. The island’s most famed wine is Coumandaria, which was initially produced by the Hospitaller Knights almost 8 centuries ago! The Knights produced Coumandaria at Kolossi Castle, a historic landmark you must-visit.
