  2. Souvla-are big chunks of lamb or pork screwed and charcoaled. Souvla is the most delicious dish of Cyprus as the charcoaled meat is marinated beforehand. When ready to eat the meat is served with fresh Cyprus Salad.
  3. Souvlaki-is what we all know and love as pork kebab served in Cyprus pitta bread with freshly cut salad and pickles. Souvlaki is a smaller version of Souvla.
  4. Sheftalia-resemble mini-burgers and are made with minced meat and scented spices and herbs.
  5. Halloumi Cheese-is the island’s most famed cheese. When part of the Cyprus Meze, this rich-flavoured cheese is served grilled. Grilled halloumi is perfect with a piece of spicy village sausage and pitta bread!
  6. Pastourma-are spicy sausages. The taste? Simply divine!
  7. Koupepia-are vine leaves stuffed with aromatic minced meat and rice. One is never enough!
  8. Karaoli Yahni-is a dish made with tiny snails cooked in herbed tomato sauce. Doesn’t sound as much but the taste is irresistible! Snails are one of the island’s prized delicacies!

  9. Tahini-is a delicious dip made with sesame seeds, garlic, lemon juice, cumin and olive oil. Suits the Cyprus Souvlaki perfectly!
  10. Afelia-are cubed casserole pork baked marinated with red wine, aromatic coriander, cumin and pepper! This lip-smacking dish is typically served with pourgouri.
