Panagia Parapotiani Church is the most famous church on Mykonos and is located near the main harbor. The name of the church means inner door, which refers to the Medieval door which provided access to the encircled area of the town or rather castle, during that period. Parapotiani is made up of five churches and it took over 200 hundred years to be completed! The construction started in the 15th century and completed in the 17th century. Imagine the architectural magnificence of this complex of churches! It is famed that its architecture has made it one of the most photographed monuments in the world!
