Anthestiria Festival In Larnaca

The Anthestiria Festival is a vibrant celebration of spring and nature’s rebirth, deeply rooted in ancient Greek traditions where festivities were held in honor of Dionysus, the god of wine and fertility. Today, the festival is celebrated in various parts of Greece and Cyprus, with one of the most notable events in Larnaca.
As part of the Flower Festival celebrations, the Larnaca Municipality organizes the “Anthestiria.”

This year’s Anthestiria will take place on Sunday, May 19, 2024, starting at 6:00 PM with a parade of flower-decorated floats and groups along the coastal front on Athenon Avenue (Finikoudes).

The parade will begin at 6:00 PM, followed by a rich cultural program featuring music and dance at the Beach Promenade stage, starting at 7:30 PM.
