Limassol’s Medieval Castle & Museum

It is hard not to surrender to the captivating culture and history of Limassol as the city boasts with reminders of the past. One of the top landmarks you’ll find in Limassol is its grandiose Medieval Castle, which has been turned into a Medieval Museum everyone should pay a visit.

During the passage of time many conquerors used the Medieval Castle for different purposes. The Venetians destroyed it; the Ottomans renovated it and then used it for the military, whereas the British used it as prison cells. The Medieval Castle was also the place where Richard the Lionheart tied the knot to Berengaria in 1191. Apparently, this is where Richard the Lionheart was also crowned the King of Cyprus and Berengaria was crowned the Queen of England.
