Welcome to Kitchen Stars! A new, innovative cooking show by Louis Group!

Welcome to Kitchen Stars! A new, innovative cooking show by Digital Tree supported by Louis Group and Alphamega hypermarkets. The Louis Group Executive Chef, Kyriakos Sotiriou, will watch over the four, promising, young chefs as they prepare their dishes for him to scrutinise. Their cooking knowledge and skills will be put to the test. Each contestant will be rated on a five-star scale through two separate dishes. Who will have the most stars by the time the credits are ready to roll? Who will be the next Kitchen Star?

All the ingredients that will be allocated to the young chefs for their cooking needs will be purchased from the Alphamega hypermarkets, while Louis Group will provide the main Chef Judge, their Executive Chef Kyriakos Sotiriou. Alongside Chef Kyriakos will be two guest stars, who will assist him as he determines which of the four contestants will win Kitchen Stars. The two guest stars are Chef George Damianou, President of the Cyprus Chef Association and Athena Loizidou, a chef and author of cooking recipe books. The criteria on which the winner will be decided are the same as those found in cooking contests around the world. The criteria are: Mise en place preparation, hygiene, cooking technique and skills, kitchen organisation, presentation, innovation creativity and, above all, taste! At the same time, the four promising chefs will have to display the same values that are required from all Louis Hotels chefs and personnel: Passion for excellence, humility, respect, laughter and teamwork.

 

The four contestants will be judged over the course of two dishes. For the first test, each contestant must create a dish that includes three key ingredients that will be selected by the other three contestant chefs (one meat, one vegetable and one starch), adding the extra challenge of having to perform with a limited menu. The final dish will be a free choice for each contestant, giving them the freedom of creating as they see fit, with the dishes they consider to be their specialty. For each dish, the contestants will have one hour to complete their recipes, seeing how time is of the essence in the industry!

 

The contestant who will present the most creative, beautiful and flavourful dishes will secure a one-year contract to work in five different Louis Hotels on five separate islands as a well as a surprise-prize (a sur-prize!) that will be announced alongside the winner. No matter the winner, the four promising young chefs stand to gain invaluable experience from Kitchen Stars as their skills will be put to the test at the highest of culinary levels in order to prepare them for the tough, but rewarding, road ahead in their careers.
