One of the hottest must-see landmarks throughout the world is Zante’s very own Navagio Beach or otherwise known as Shipwreck. The beach is said to be the most photographed beach in Greece, decorating the western coast of the island, lying beneath Volimes Village. According to the story, in 1983, an illegal pirate ship carrying stolen treasure was washed off the shore. Other say, the ship was carrying illegal cigarettes and sunk while it was being pursued by the authorities. During the years that followed the sand swallowed up the ancient ship, leaving parts of its body exposed, creating a dramatic contrast with the sparkling crystalline waters and white-golden sandy bay.3.
