Special Quality Distinction for Louis Hotels
The Annual Quality Event, an event organised by the Cyprus Certification Company (CCC) and the Cyprus Organisation for Standardisation (CYS), was held in a hotel in Nicosia on the 7th of March 2017 with absolute success. “Louis Hotels”, member of the LOUIS Group of Companies, which has a long history and has played a leading role in the Cypriot and Greek tourism industry, received the Annual Special Quality Distinction at the Annual Quality Event within the context of the Annual institution that was established by the CCC and the CYS, entitled “Special Honorary Quality Distinctions”.
“Louis Hotels” was born in the beginning of 1940’s, as part of Louis Tourist Agency. It all started when the late Louis Loizou, bought the hotel “SEMMERING” and the “Grand Hotel” in the mountain resorts of Cyprus. This was followed by “Louis Hotels”’ at Ledra Street, while in 1969 Louis Loizou undertook the management of the landmark hotel “Ledra Palace” in Nicosia. This is how the company’s long and glorious course of development started in Cyprus and in Greece, culminating in December 2002 when an agreement was signed with Hilton International for the management of Hilton Park.
By managing 22, 4 and 5 stars hotels, which include 12,000 beds, 2,500 employees and an annual turnover exceeding 100 million Euros in Cyprus and in Greece, Louis Hotels is committed to its characteristic quality, in view of the fact that its hotels are among the first ones that were certified with management systems in Cyprus. The year 2001 was a very important year in view of the fact that Louis Hotels first started working with the CCC and the Apollonia Hotel was certified for the first time. The hotels Louis Phaethon, Imperial and Nausicaa ensued in 2003 onwards.
In 2017, 7 hotels in Cyprus were certified with two or more of the following management system standards: ISO 9001: 2008, ISO 14001: 2004, ISO 22000: 2005, OHSAS 18001: 2007, Regulation EMAS 1221/2009. The implementation of these standards constitutes another factor of Louis Hotels’ accountability and credibility due to the fact that they are combined with Louis Hotels’ long experience in the tourism sector. This also upgrades the company’s products and services.
In view of the above, Louis Hotels, member of the LOUIS Group of Companies, was awarded with the Special Honorary Award. The award was awarded to Louis Hotels’ Managing Director, Mr Jason Perdios for the company’s long contribution in the area of certification by means of the implementation of management systems.
