The inspiring Limassol Archaeological Museum opened its doors in 1948. The initial collection was fist showcased in a part of Limassol’s Medieval Castle. The collection includes a diverse range of artefacts dating back to the 4th and 5th centuries AD. The findings visitors encounter cover the most significant historical periods the island went through right up to the Ottoman reign, in the 16th-17th centuries AD. The whole collection is a great opportunity to get acquainted with Cyprus’ inspiring past filled with foreign invaders.
