A glorious day in wonderful Mykonos

Greetings to all travel enthusiasts! Every year Mykonos is flooded with thousands of holidaymakers from all over the world. A great number of them are simply revisiting after being pleasantly seduced the first time round. Tourists are inevitably attracted by the lovely beaches, the romantic bays, the lively nights, the Cycladic architecture with the white buildings and the narrow cobblestoned streets. Mykonos can definitely satisfy the best of both worlds as it can excellently combine fun nights and beach holidays.

We can start off our day with a good old visit to the beach. Mykonos is blessed with diverse wonderful beaches and it is up to you to choose the one that suits your mood of the day. You can easily go to an exciting different location on each day of your trip but be careful since there is a great possibility you will fall in love with a specific one and visit it every day. Resist the temptation as you do not want to miss out on all the other amazing beaches that are on display. There are beaches that are world famous for partying and hosting famous DJ’s, trendy beach hubs, family oriented beaches, cosmopolitan classy resorts and secluded romantic bays. The choice is yours but whatever you choose the outcome is always one. You will have a great time as you enjoy the crystalline waters and the golden sandy seashores of the island. Some of the main beach attractions are: Elia and Lia Beach, Paradise and Super Paradise, Ormos and Platis Gialos, Kalo Livadi Beach and Psarou Bay.

Following our afternoon power nap and a refreshing cold shower, we head out to visit a lovely place called Little Venice. It is one of the most recognised romantic spots in the capital and from here you can marvel at the famous Mykonian sunset. The name is derived from the striking resemblance with Venice as the majestic colourful ancient mansions are literally standing on the edge of the water. The shoreline is filled with cafes, restaurants and bars for you to enjoy your drink and meal while overlooking the sun diving into the blue sea and disappearing into the vast horizon. The much photographed whitewashed windmills can be seen on the opposing hill as they blend perfectly with the glorious scenery. The Mykonian sunset at Little Venice is an alluring image and a memorable experience.

Now that the sun has given way to the playful moon and the climate is much cooler, it is time to wander along the narrow cobblestoned alleys of Chora Town. The picturesque main town with the square whitewashed buildings, the bright balconies with the green plants, the blue entrance doors and the small chapels. Getting lost in the labyrinth of Chora is indeed a blessing and the whole area is full of designer outlets, souvenir shops and bars that stay open until late. Although everything has been converted to satisfy the most demanding, Cycladic architecture has been maintained throughout thus giving a unique feeling of Greece.
As the time passes by, Mykonos that is well known for its vibrant nightlife, slowly transforms into a party hub with a wide range of options available throughout, from bar crawling to clubbing and wild parties on the beach.

This is all, for now, my dear fellow adventurers. In conclusion please remember that life is short and beautiful and it is strictly up to you to enjoy it and live it to the fullest.
