Limassol is a vibrant city in Cyprus that attracts many visitors thanks to its unique lifestyle, luxury holiday resorts, the combination of beautiful shorelines and the charming mountain villages. We will take a look at three amazing beaches you must add to your bucket list next time you are holidaying in Limassol!

Santa Barbara is s blue flag awarded beach located in the Agios Tychonas area. The beach is easily accessible, there is plenty of parking space and the facilities on site include sunbeds, umbrellas, showers, toilets, and conveniences for the disabled. There are plenty of kiosks and trendy bars where you can sit and enjoy a snack and cold coffees.  Santa Barbara is a beautiful, clean, and peaceful sandy beach with a charming footpath that leads to the ancient port of Amathounta.  It is great for a walk before settling down on the beach and it gets extremely popular early in the morning, as you will come across many people walking or running along the beach.

Lady’s Mile Beach is a 15-minute drive from Limassol town centre and the beach seems to go on forever, as it is stretches to 6km of coast. It is in the Akrotiri area and it took its name from the British governor’s wife during the British rule, who would visit the beach and ride her horse along the coast every day. The beach consists of dark grey sand and pebbles whilst the waters are very shallow making it ideal for families. There are restaurants and kiosks, toilets and showers, sunbeds and umbrellas, a playground for kids and a water sports centre. During the wintertime, the Akrotitri Salt Lake looks spectacular and it attracts migrating birds that include the striking pink flamingos.

Pissouri Bay Beach is sited at a 30km distance west of Limassol and lies within the tourist resort area of the village of Pissouri. It is also awarded with the blue flag and it is immensely popular amongst tourists and locals. Facilities include toilets, showers, umbrellas, sunbeds, a water sports centre and a volleyball court. The sand is golden with tiny pebbles and the clean waters are generally calm. There are five entrances to the beach and two of them are suitable for disabled access. Towards the west of the bay, you will find charming small coves whilst the view from the top of the bay is amazing. There are a couple of taverns and kiosks nearby and once in the area make sure you visit the traditional village of Pissouri.
