The Intoxicating Sound & Light Show of Rhodes

The Municipal Gardens of Rhodes Town are transformed into a theatrical venue where an educational, entertaining and exhilarating show is put on! The show is made entirely by musical sounds and lights whereby no actors take part.

The show recounts the story of the struggle Rhodes’ locals and the Knights of Saint John had to go through and overcome against the Turkish army back in 1522 AD using symbolic lighting, stereophonic sound effects and projected images. At the time, the Turkish army was led by Suleiman the Great.

All the show takes place with backdrop the ancient walls of Rhodes Medieval Town, which adds to the atmosphere. Several of Rhodes most famed monuments and buildings, found within its Medieval Town, have protagonist roles within the dramatic show. Some of the building s include the Tower of Suleiman, the Palace of the Grand Master as well as the Houses of the Chapters of the Knights!

The show lasts for about 50 minutes and is available in five different languages making it accessible to visitors from all over the world. The Sounds and Lights Show has been a crowd drawer ever since it was first projected.
