Ever since 1961, the Wine Festival is held at the Municipal Gardens every September in honour of Dionysus, the God of Wine and the island’s long and rich winemaking history! Every June, the ancient Kourion amphitheatre is brought to life with the annual event Shakespearean Nights! Shakespearean plays are performed under the moonlight within the timeless open-air theatre with the breathtaking views of the sparkling Mediterranean as backdrop!

You have all heard or tried the island’s famous Coumandaria Wine right? Well guess what…Limassol hosts a Coumandaria Festival every July! The sweet red wine has been produced in Cyprus since the time of the Crusaders and once a year the villages of Kourris Valley organise the festival, drawing in the crowds with lots of festivities and Coumandaria drinking! Yummy!

Every summer, the ancient city kingdom is revived with the annual Amathusia Festival, transporting all its visitors to the past as they enjoy the festivities that take place amongst the ruins of the old city.
