The winner of Elliniko Ouzomezedopoleio cooking contest has signed her dish!

Elliniko Ouzomezedopoleio, the traditional Greek restaurant in the capital of Cyprus, recently organized an original event that gave its guests the most memorable taste. The Louis Hotels team hosted a special cooking contest in which four journalists had the opportunity to be chefs for a day and prepared their own unique recipes!

The four contestants, battled for the “Celebrity Chef” award, with the help and guidance of the Elliniko Ouzomezedopoleio’s skilled kitchen staff. The event took place on the 31st of October and the attendants had the opportunity to taste the contestants’ recipes as well as the new Elliniko Ouzomezedopoleio dishes which were prepared from the restaurant’s chefs.

The ‘chef-journalists’ started the preparations for their dishes early in the morning, so they would be ready to be served to the invitees. Lots of people from various media organizations became the judges,  tried the four recipes made by their colleagues and voted their preferred dish. Ms. Popi Vaki was the big winner, since her “drunk” octopus received the majority of the  votes. Her recipe will be included in the restaurant’s next menu and all customers will have the chance to enjoy it during their visit. The grand prize for the winner, was a one-week stay at the Mykonos Theoxenia Hotel, a gift from Louis Hotels.

Following the voting procedure, Elliniko Ouzomezedopoleio staff served the media representatives many of the new menu’s dishes. The new menu’s dishes prepared by the experienced chefs of the well-known restaurant, are characterized by authentic Mediterranean elements thus taking them to a delightful gastronomy trip. Vegetarian and gluten-free dishes were served amongst others. The guests were amazed by the fresh salads, like the one with goat cheese, ‘‘pastellaki’’, ‘’soutzouko’’ and pomegranate sauce but also by the delicious main courses like the Metsovo cheese-stuffed burger.

Mr. Marios Perdios, Chief F&B Officer of Louis Hotels, thanked everyone and noted: “The fact that this innovative competition had such a big success gives us great joy. The four contestants, although journalists by profession, cooked four delicious dishes and showcased their talent in cooking. The winning dish rightfully earned a place on our new menu. We are also very happy because Elliniko Ouzomezedopoleio has proved again that using creativity and innovative ideas can stand out from the competition”.

After lunch, all the guests were given commemorative gifts offered by the restaurant’s management team. Whilst experiencing the ultimate gastronomic experience all media representatives enjoyed the excellent service that the Elliniko Ouzomezedopoleio offers to its guests, showing the professionalism that Louis Hotels proves to have all these years.
